This unique program, developed by the Hershel “Woody” Williams Medal of Honor Foundation, will host 300 Gold Star Family members for a day of baseball, food, community, and fun.
This year’s event will be held in conjunction with the 2018 Bluegrass World Series with the goal of supporting the mission of honoring Gold Star Families and their fallen Heroes, raising awareness about Gold Star Families and their enduring sacrifice, and offering an opportunity for Gold Star Families to strengthen relationships within their Gold Star Family community.
The Bluegrass World Series http://bluegrassworldseries.com will be an incredible baseball event at Louisville Slugger Field featuring a team of 30 former Major League players competing against top-tier collegiate wood bat summer league teams from around the country.

D’Amico, the grand prize winner, will receive a free kolache and small coffee every day for a year. The other four finalists win free breakfast for six months. The Institute for Building Technology and Safety (IBTS) is pleased to announce that it recently formed a strategic initiative with the Building Codes Assistance Project (BCAP), with the intent to integrate BCAP into the IBTS family over the next six months. This alliance creates a significant growth opportunity for IBTS in the energy code and high-performance building arenas.
Founded in 1994, BCAP is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the adoption, implementation, and advancement of building energy codes at national, state, local, and international levels through technical support, education, and policy development. IBTS recognized BCAP as a go-to energy codes resource and instantly saw a synergy of missions and goals. BCAP will continue its valuable work, including the highly informative BCAP website, delivery of its Code Alerts, a state-based Energy Code Ambassador Program (ECAP), and policy support.
“This initiative is a great way to enhance our offer in energy codes and cutting-edge sustainability-focused building and community strategies,” said Christopher Fennell, Chief Development and Marketing Officer. “I’m looking forward to what the next six months brings.”
Throughout the partnership, BCAP will be identified as the IBTS Building Codes Assistance Program (IBTS-BCAP). Together, IBTS-BCAP will identify new opportunities to support governments and other organizations with greater subject matter expertise, technology solutions, training, and program support.
